Many of you will know Dan Roberts from the work we have done with him and his schoo,l saltash.net community school in Cornwall. We announced in March , that Dan would be moving to pastures new. But he was back in the UK recently to collect another well deserved accolade. Dan was the first recipient of the TES ICT Visionary in Education Award .
During the last 6 years I have had the pleasure of seeing Dan receive honours such as a National Teaching Award, UK, European and World Partners in Learning Teacher awards, a Learning without Frontiers Award and last year he was awarded a UK Partners in Learning Lifetime achievement award. But, whatever you think of awards in education, be you a supporter or sceptic, I know, despite all these accolades, Dan is most proud of the legacy he has left not only with his colleagues, and more importantly the students at saltash.net community school, but the wider community of educators across the globe he has influenced and inspired through twitter, his blog and his involvement with the Microsoft Partners in Learning Network.
You can find Dan and more educators like him on the Microsoft Partners in Learning Network www.pil-network.com . Join today, its free and might possibly be the best piece of CPD you ever do.
For those that have never heard Dan speak, then check out his TEDx talk. You will see why he is a visionary. Follow him on Twitter @chickensaltash
