I'm on a Macbook Pro running Safari 2 with Silverlight 1.0 - the version you're offering to standard users (eg, not a beta version). This is a brand new machine.

Not using IE 64-bit (heh).

Thanks,

I also love the way they made the Halo 3 Page.

I am just learning how to use Silverlight myself however.

re: Halo 3 and Silverlight

I'm still not so sure this is a great idea. It feels a lot like what people were doing with all-flash sites back in the Flash 4 days when penetration was <80% Right now Silverlight penetration is... about nil. Does it make sense to lock up valuable content (like a Game Guide) into a proprietary format?

I guess I can understand MS will push it's own technology, but putting this info up without any HTML equivalent seems reckless and bully-ish to me. In all honesty, this puts a *negative* light on Silverlight in my eyes.

Here's hoping that someday MS will start pushing Silverlight by creating compelling rich interfaces, and not bullying users into downloading their plugin just to read the content :)

re: Halo 3 and Silverlight

Hi Mike,

can you also tell us more about your computer? When I visit the game guide that you've put on the Silverlight page it tells me that I need to download Silverlight in order to view the guide - even though I already have it.
