Telecom Italia signed a collaboration aggreement with Microsoft Corp. for the joint development of new telecommunication services and entertainment applications, available from fixed as well as mobile terminals.

The partnership between the two companies will make possible the development of new applications that will be accessible from PCs, cell phones and also via IPTV. Mobile phones, PCs and TV will then be able to remotely connect with each other.

Telecom Italia will launch "Alice Super-mailbox" service as one of the first results of the agreement. The new free service is based on Hosted Messaging and Collaboration Solution and available to 27 million TIM mobile phones and 4.3 million Telecom Italia broadband access points with 3GBs of e-mail storage.

Telecom Italia will also be providing IT services for the businesses. The services offered by Telecom Italia will enhance companies' communication and collaboration processes, with audio/video conferencing, email services (with calendaring and contacts), mobile data access and more...

Furthermore Telecom Italia will be providing IPTV to homes with value added services and channels with its ADSL offerings.

With all these combined Telecom Italia will be providing differentiated services to mobile phones, PCs and TVs with convergence.
