If you hold your MCSA or MCSE on 2003...
trikah@microsoft.com
...you should sign up to get 40% off of your upgrade exam to Windows Server 2008 . Do I sound too pushy? You don't have to. But all you have to do is sign in with your Live ID to register, then you'll get an e-mail with your voucher code that will work at any test center worldwide. Then, you can use...

70-620 and 70-236 as Windows Server 2003 electives?
trikah@microsoft.com
Yes, it is true! it is true! Any day now these will be added to the MCSA and MCSE sites for elective credit. As soon as it is "official" (the pages have been updated) I'll let you know. Here's what will change: Under CORE: CLIENT OPERATING SYSTEM EXAMS (one required), 70-620 (Vista MCTS) is being...

To be clear: 70-620 as MCSA/MCSE elective
trikah@microsoft.com
For both MCSA and MCSE 2000 and 2003, 70-620 ("Big Vista" exam) can be used to satisfy: core exam for client requirement OR general elective just not BOTH in the same track. In this post , I said that 620 can be used as a CLIENT ELECTIVE, but it is more accurate to say that it is one...

trikah@microsoft.com
I'm talking to all y'all MCSA and MCSEs out there. A few customers brought this up in a recent meeting: Why are MCSEs being ignored?? Why is all the new certification stuff focused on just developers and DBAs? and I thought that seemed a reasonable question. The reason all new certification information...

Big ups to MCSEs in places without many MCSEs
trikah@microsoft.com
I keep getting questions about this, so just for fun I pulled a list of countries with less than 50 people who are certified MCSE on Windows Server 2003. As a result of this exersize, I will be spending some time with a world map. If any of you in the "1" row happen across this blog... send me an...

The next few certification-related Live Meetings we're planning, below. This is supposed to be helpful for you guys, so if I'm getting it wrong, tell me what you'd rather hear about instead. Intro to Exchange 2007 cert paths (early February) Recap of SQL Server 2005 cert paths and upgrade from...

Muddling over Server Certifications...MCSE 2000? MCSE 2003? Longhorn Server?
trikah@microsoft.com
At the Microsoft Learning booth yesterday at IT Forum (by the way, if you're in Barcelona and you're reading this, come by our booth in the Ask the Experts session... we somehow have a basket full of tiny cookies with MCP logos on them--really a 'don't miss'...) I got a lot of questions on what to do...
