Any idea what timescale we should expect results for these betas? I took a couple on 19 July and no news. Not overly concerned, just wondering.

Alice, the office certs are a separate program and therefore contracts for delivery are separate, and therefore Certiport delivers these exams. Don't know the history; don't expect any changes any time soon.

The planning teams will decide to do Charter certs or giveaways depending on how much they want people to participate in the betas, or if they are just really, really nice :-) but not a given!

Ken, all, I don't know much about this program and don't know where to point you on all the ins and outs of certiport, etc. I'll lobby for someone from that program to start blogging!

Ken, if you have a specific question e-mail it to me and I'll see who we can find.

Any news on the MCAP track, I've e-mailed Bizcert@microsoft.com but all they replied was the link to www.microsoft.com/learning/msbc which isn't very helpful.

Can you provide more info please?

Yep :)

Took the Vista Beta, quite easy. It's more of a poweruser cert than a IT/technical cert. But worth going for anyway, if you pass you get the MCAS cred :)

I just found out that the "free gift" is a 1GB thumb drive (beats the 32MB thumb drive I got from Microsoft Partner Readiness earlier this year).

I'm taking Excel on Aug. 8th and PowerPoint on Aug. 15th.

No objection if we are, just seems odd I got one since I thought question point weighting was sorted out post-beta?

That's pretty much how I figured you felt I just wanted to make sure.

Unfortunately most businesses that run testing centers don't have weekend hours. That isn't a Vue or Prometric issue at all so even if a center offers both VUE services and Prometric you still end up with the same hours of availability.

Yes I am old enough to know what Yugo's are at least, though Trabant doesn't ring a bell.

Note: Judging by the area code, you probably mean Fairfield, Connecticut, not Fairfield, California (unless the phone number is wrong).

This leaves out all of northern California, including the Silicon Valley.

So far everyone I have talked to no longer offers the exam or is closed for school vacation.
