It really isn't.
A text message that calls out emergency staff is not a distraction. An email containing a job proposal is not a distraction. A social networking link that produces help for job or health is not a distraction.
We need to stop blaming the tools for our choices in how they are used.

Haha :-D this is very true. I always thought an IT pro spends around 20-25% of the working hours actually working, but I guess im wrong the actual work varies between 10-15%.
