I suppose I really should introduce myself as it has been a few months since my predecessor, Ben Nunney, contributed to this blog. My name is James Marshall and I’m the new UK Live@edu Deployment Specialist. Since I took over from Ben back in September loads of cool stuff has been happening and 2011 promises to be a milestone year for Live@edu.
In the first half of 2011, beginning in February, we’ll be rolling out the latest service refresh to Live@edu customers. This refresh will introduce new functionality, including Forefront Online Protection for Exchange, as well as performance improvements all round.
Back in October we announced the forthcoming Microsoft Office 365, and the version for education: Office 365 for education. This represents the massive investment we’re continuing to make in cloud services and Office 365 for education will be succeeding Live@edu in its current form when it becomes generally available.
For more information about Live@edu and Office 365 for education, why not come along to the BETT show in London in January?
If you’re already a Live@edu customer that’s great news! You’re already in the best place to be and you’ll be receiving information over the coming months about the changes that will be taking place. Check out this announcement for more information about the forthcoming service refresh. (You will need to log in using your Live@edu tenant admin account)
If you’re thinking about deploying Live@edu at your institution then fear not, there has never been a better time, you can enrol here!
I guess all that remains is for me to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I will be at the BETT show for the whole week, so come along and say hello!
