Whether you call it business intelligence or performance management, the challenge remains the same – how can public sector organisations more effectively unlock the business value of the information they have on their systems?

Microsoft recently conducted research across a number of Public Sector organisations on how effectively business intelligence solutions are being used to support the ICT-enabled transformation of public services. Working with The Register we have also produced a webcast on the findings of the research which includes a real-world perspective from Ofsted on the challenges they are facing in applying business intelligence in an agile way to keep pace with the demands of their business.

You can download your free copy of the research here and view a recording of the highly informative and insightful webcast here.

One of the key findings of the research that is explored further in the webcast concerns how many organisations have invested in the technology for Business Intelligence but not supported it adequately with the training and skills development necessary to empower more users with the confidence to interrogate and analyse the data available to them more effectively.

The demand is growing for more open access to data and public sector organisations need to prove their value for money and effectiveness in delivering public services.  Our webcast and report provides valuable insights into how to make more of your current investments in business intelligence tools and how to empower more users to unlock the business value of the information available to them.
