That would be next week…

I know for many of our ISVs the following holds true.

  • ISV sells application to customer
  • Customer likes application which runs beautifully
  • Many years pass
  • Customer keeps using the original application which still runs beautifully

Which I suspect means that there are a lot of ISV products running beautifully on SQL Server 2005. Importantly the fact that mainstream support is ending is highly unlikely to be noticed by these applications who will more than likely continue to run beautifully on SQL Server 2005.

But… it is important to know that extended support will be your only option after next week.
