Keep track of all the latest news and events on developer tools and technologies you care about
We’re busy prepping the PDC 10 event and wanted to give you a quick run-down of what’s planned:
1. The Microsoft UK evangelists will be your hosts for the evening. Currently it looks like we’ll be spending the night with @marcholmes, @simonster, @mikeormond and @mtaulty. Still to confirm: @markjo and @thebeebs - if you follow them and want them to come, please harass them!
2. We've just ordered some of the below to give away at the event to celebrate the launch of Windows Phone 7. You never know, you could be leaving with one of your very own.
3. Our friends over in Redmond have been busy testing the HD feed (it’s looking good) and preparing to release the session agendas. More on that when we have it.
4. There will now only be a Thursday event in Reading. We realise most folks would rather not battle through Friday M4 traffic, preferring to spend time at home with their laptop and a mug of hot tea. To accommodate that, we are going to ensure that all our evangelists are online following along and providing commentary on the sessions, answering questions and generally connecting with any developer watching along live (think of Cookalong Live with Gordon Ramsay TV show).
Any questions, tweet us or email us and we’ll get back to you. All the earlier details are below.

4.30PM – 12.00AM, 28th October 2010 – Reading Campus, Microsoft UK
·We’d like to welcome you to watch the HD live stream of the Professional Developers Conference event, running in Redmond, Seattle. PDC is widely recognised as the showcase for some of Microsoft’s biggest platform announcements, and 2010 promises to be no exception. You’ll hear from our home-grown technical experts about what you can expect from the next generation of Microsoft developer technologies, and your hosts for the evening will be the UK technical evangelism team, on hand to talk about the announcements as they happen.
You’ll also have the chance to network and swap notes with the fantastic developer community. While you’re there, why not put the Xbox 360 Kinect through its paces? We’ll keep your energy levels up with pizza, beer and coffee.
The agenda and sessions will be announced closer to the event at www.microsoftpdc.com – you can be guaranteed that there will be a lot of content around the below areas in both the keynotes and the main sessions:
· Client and Devices - hear about all the great advances for the client and devices, including how to build and sell apps for Windows Phone 7, how to take advantage of the many features and performance improvements for Internet Explorer 9 and Silverlight and how to better use advanced Windows 7 capabilities.
· Cloud Services - learn why Microsoft is “all in” in the cloud and why cloud services are transforming how applications will be built and deployed. Hear about the many exciting capabilities of the Windows Azure Platform and find out how to move applications and services to the cloud.
· Frameworks and Tools - go deep on various topics related to languages, frameworks, runtimes and tools. Learn how to build the most cutting edge applications using the full power and flexibility of the Microsoft platform.
We’ll also be supporting seven university events open to all developers, student and Microsoft-geeks alike – find more information here.
We’ll broadcast the main agenda on here as soon as we get it – in the meantime, follow us on Twitter - @ukmsdn.
