A new SketchFlow template for WP7 has been released and you can download it here.
When I first started looking at Windows Phone 7 I got out my trusty moleskin notepad and started sketching UI. Sketching is an important part of my development workflow, I need something visual before I can start coding so that I can think about and explain my ideas to others. Problem is, my sketch's often look like a spider got dipped in ink then started break dancing on some paper. It’s also hard to get across how an application is going to behave with just a pen and some paper.
That's where tools like SketchFlow come in really useful, SketchFlow has been around for a while for Silverlight but until recently if you wanted to use it for Windows Phone 7 you’d have to create all the styles and templates yourself.
With this new template you can quickly mock-up a Windows Phone app using , sketchy controls, sample data, Behaviours and the Visual State Manager. The prototype you create runs in the SketchFlow player enabling you to easily test, get feedback and quickly iterate on your ideas. For the SketchFlow phone template there are a number of unique phone features to speed up the prototyping process such as pivot and panorama, date and time pickers, map controls, the application bar as well full screen mockups of features such as the camera, Bing search, the app list and home screen.
If you want to know more about Sketch Flow and blend I highly recommend you watch Unni’s session from MIX.
