Mads Kristensen Brings Web Standards to VS2010

  • Comments 1

When I heard the name Mads Kristensen I knew I’d heard it before… then I remembered he’s the guy who used to be at the bottom of my blog. The founder of BlogEngine.net

What I didn’t realise was that Mads now works for Microsoft and he’s been doing some amazing things with his team, like creating the Web Standards Update for Visual Studio 2010. You can download it here.

The extension adds better Intellisense support for HTML5, CSS3 and related technologies like:

  • Video
  • Audio
  • Input Type
  • Drag & Drop
  • WAI-ARIA
  • Microdata
  • Geolocation
  • Local storage
  • 2D transforms and 3D transforms,
  • flexbox model
  • media queries
  • CSS3 vendor prefixes -ms, -webkit and -moz are also included. (I've spoken to Mads and asked for –o support too)

The extension also works with Visual Web Developer Express 2010.

You can Download the free Web Standards Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1, and read Read Scott Hanselman’s post  for more information.

  • Perhaps he should bring some web standards to, oh I dunno.. IE?
