To test the icon and label, please try with a USB 2.0 host controller first. For the request that retrieves the extended properties OS descriptor, does your device handle a bmRequestType targeting an interface recipient (0xC1) rather than device recipient?

Other things to try: Use a vendor request code other than 0; Add an extended compat ID OS feature descriptor.

This post is really interesting but as our driver is using the WDF, I assume that the pipe reset is handle in the framework.

This is an excellent article. The only thing I would ask is if there is a way to know the default timeout for Selective Suspend to occur. After how long and under what conditions does Selective Suspend activate?

I am running W8 build 9200 and icon/label do not work. Interface GUID works like a charm.

I have tried 4 different oses -Linux included- and they all work flawlessly with USB 3.0. Windows 8 did not even recognize my DVD drive out of the box.
