Highlights from Wednesday, July 15th

Today Allison Watson and Kevin Turner took the stage. In her keynote, Allison highlighted the most important characteristics of successful partners, congratulated and introduced several of this year’s Imagine Cup Award participants, and announced her technology A-list. As part of the A-list presentation, Todd Brix, Senior Director of Windows Mobile Communications Business, announced the global availability of Windows Mobile Marketplace on July 27th, 2009. Other technologies featured on Allison’s A-list were Microsoft Surface, Microsoft Amalga, Microsoft Health Vault, Microsoft Office Communications Server, and a vision of the future of technology in 10 years.
Kevin Turner thanked Microsoft partners in his keynote today saying, “The energy we get from our partners really fuels us for the whole year.” He kicked off the conference today with a compelling review of Microsoft’s competitive strategy. Highlighting four pillars of innovation for partners’ roadmaps to the future, Kevin outlined a dynamic five point game-plan for partner success, and put forth three calls to action: 1) Launch, evangelize and sell the innovation story, 2) earn the right to be a trusted advisor and 3) grow market share by competing to win.
