Ok, a couple of people have asked me about the availability of Longhorn Server Virtualization with the recent announcement of Longhorn Beta 3 (see my previous post). There is not currently a beta available for Windows Virtualization Services in Longhorn. This will ship separately (within 180 days of Longhorn launch) and a Beta will be available in the second half of this year. The Virtualization team blog talks about this.
That being said, Virtual Server 2005 R2 runs great on Longhorn. If you have the hardware to take advantage of the Intel VT and AMD-V (Virtualization Technology on-chip) then you should check out Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 Beta 2 (yes, it's a mouthful).
