Today at the MIX'09 conference, Microsoft announced the release of the ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework.  ASP.NET 1.0 MVC works on top of the existing ASP.NET 3.5 SP1 runtime.

ASP.NET MVC gives developers the following advantages:

  • A clear separation of concerns separating the UI or view from the business and application logic
  • Facilitates test driven development (TDD)
  • Gives the designer/developer more control over HTML and JavaScript
  • Intuitive and consistent URLs
