Shortly after PDC ’09 we put together a hands-on training session in Waltham, MA for some managed ISV partners diving into many of the new technologies around Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010. We called this session; “Dev 10 Training”. Below you will find those recorded courses and links to hands on labs which were largely based on the Windows 7 Training Kit and the Visual Studio 2010 Training Kit. The sessions are about an hour in length each. Hopefully these will help jump start your .NET 4 and Windows 7 development efforts!
1. Windows 7 Shell
In this training session, Jason De Lorme, ISV Architect Evangelist talks about the enhancements in the Windows 7 Shell and how to program features such as the Taskbar, Jump Lists, Custom Categories, Thumbnail Preview, Thumbnail Toolbars and more.

2. Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate
Todd Mancini, Developer Technology Specialist demystifies the various versions (SKUs) of Visual Studio 2010, mapping from VS 2008 and many of the new features of the 2010 IDE along with some great demos like IntelliTrace. Come get excited about Visual Studio 2010!

3. Parallel Computing for Managed Developers
Rich Crane, MTC Architect dives deep into parallel computing and the enhancements that make it more approachable for the masses in .NET 4. While .NET 4 makes it easier, you still need to know what’s going on and Rich does a great job explaining.
4. Workflow 4.0, XAML 2009, Application Fabric, SQL Modeling Services & More...
XAML is a big bet from Microsoft, whether it be in WPF, Silverlight, Workflow, etc… Todd Bremner, MTC Architect describes the new Workflow engine in .NET 4, XAML, the Application Fabric, modeling services and more in this all-up XAML + Workflow talk.
5. Windows Communication Foundation 4.0
Rich Crane, MTC Architect is an authority on WCF; he’s written a book on the topic and dives into what’s new in WCF 4.0 in this session. Listen to Rich and learn how to build distributed applications with WCF 4.0.
6. Entity Framework v2
Jason De Lorme, ISV Architect Evangelist describes what’s new in the Entity Framework v2 which is part of .NET 4.0. The EFv2 supports POCO, model first and other approaches for building your object relational mapping layer. The improvements over v1 are significant, come listen to session to learn more.
7. Silverlight 4 Overview
Todd Bremner, MTC Architect dives deep into Silverlight 4 and the path from the initial Silverlight 1 release to the upcoming version 4. He demonstrates some of the key investments such as full trust out of browser, web cam, printing, drag and drop, right click and others. Crank the volume on this one, unfortunately the audio is a bit light (we’ll see if we can amplify).
