Today we released the first version of the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview Training Kit. This kit includes hands-on labs to help you understand how to take advantage of the variety of enhancements in Visual Studio 11 and the .NET Framework 4.5, how to support and manage the entire application lifecycle, and how to build Windows Metro style apps.
The SQL Server 2012 Developer Training Kit is now available for download free of charge. The kit includes technical content designed to help you learn how to develop SQL Server 2012 database and BI solutions. New and updated content will be released periodically and can be downloaded on-demand using the Web Installer Preview.

Two new Community Technology Previews (CTPs) for SQL Azure have been announced at PASS Summit 2011 that are aimed at enhancing BI capabilities and connecting data in the cloud and on-premises.
Windows Azure Marketplace will help sell your Azure applications globally. This online marketplace was launched in July 2011 and now is available in 25 additional countries. Partners can elect to list-only applications or sell applications directly within the marketplace. It is free to list applications in the marketplace. For applications that are commerce enabled, Microsoft uses a 20/80 revenue sharing model.
Windows Azure Marketplace is now available in 26 countries with 17 currencies.
The Microsoft Dynamics NAV team has produced a demo of the application running on Windows Azure. The product was demoed at Directions US, which is an event for Dynamics NAV Partners run by Dynamics NAV Partners.
In his keynote at PASS 2011, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Ted Kummert announced new investments to help customers manage “big data,” including an Apache Hadoop-based distribution for Windows Server and Windows Azure and a strategic partnership with Hortonworks Inc. and Hadoop Connectors for SQL Server and Parallel Data Warehouse.
You can now share your private data with groups of your friends, coworkers, and those outside your work organization courtesy of a new free product, Glassboard, from social media company Sepia Labs. Users can connect with each other's Windows Phone, Android, or iPhone. Soon users can connect from within a Silverlight part in Office 365.

Kicking off PASS Summit 2011, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Ted Kummert announced the upcoming SQL Server 2012, formerly code-named “Denali.”
SQL Server 2012 delivers a powerful new set of capabilities for mission-critical workloads, business intelligence and hybrid IT across traditional datacenters and private and public clouds. Features such as Power View (formerly Project “Crescent,”) and SQL Server Data Tools (formerly “Juneau”) expand the self-service BI capabilities delivered with PowerPivot, and provide an integrated development environment for SQL Server developers.
At Azure DevCamps, you’ll learn what’s new in developing cloud solutions using Windows Azure. And then you’ll participate in hands-on labs.

A new architect certification program, Microsoft Certified Architects (MCA) for SharePoint, was announced by Jeff Teper, Corporate Vice President Office Business Platform, at the SharePoint Conference.
He said those who become certified architects “will have a level of depth and training and certification that is unmatched on complex SharePoint enterprise deployments and application development.”
Microsoft plans to expand the business critical services delivered by Office 365 and Azure and make moving to the cloud even easier for customers. By the end of the year, the first round of service updates to SharePoint Online since Office 365 launched will be complete and will enable customers to use Business Connectivity Services (BCS) to connect to data sources via Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) Web Services endpoints. BCS lets customers use and search data from other systems as if it lives in SharePoint—in both read and write modes.
