Released in 1993 - The 7th Guest was one of the first CD-ROM based games I ever played (on a friend's 1x CD-ROM drive which was a caddy loader).  This was the first of the infamous 'interactive movie' games.  It places you in a creepy house built by an insane toymaker - and has you solve a number of little puzzles - with a slowly evolving and definitely twisted story line:

The 7th Guest under Virtual PC   The 7th Guest under Virtual PC   The 7th Guest under Virtual PC   The 7th Guest under Virtual PC   The 7th Guest under Virtual PC

This game is 'playable' under Virtual PC.  The sound is not the greatest - and the video jerks here and there - but the game is still completable.  It should automatically detect the correct settings to use when installed under straight DOS - I had some problems with the mouse when I tried to run it under a Windows 98 virtual machine.

Cheers,
Ben
