BioMenace under Virtual PC

You are Snake Logan, a top CIA operative who likes to do things his own way. Metro City has fallen under the attack of hideous mutants and your mission is to fly recon over the city and report back.  While circling over the city you are shot down by hostile forces and forced to crash land on the streets of Metro.  Grabbing what supplies you can find you are out to discover the source of these mutants and especially the guy who shot you down!

Intelligence reports indicate that a man calling himself Dr. Mangle is responsible for the mutants and the destruction of Metro.  You will have to battle your way through many levels packed with evil mutants and robotic guards to finally infiltrate Mangle's fortress and defeat him.  You wonder how just one man could be responsible for so much trouble.

BioMenace was one of the old platform games on the PC - which frankly I never got too much into.  In fact - one of the things I remember most about it was that it was very touchy and hard to get running.  It is a solid game - though not 'gripping' and it runs well under Virtual PC:

Interestingly enough - 3D Realms have recently released the entire game as freeware.  So if you want to check it out you can grab it from here: ftp://ftp.3drealms.com/freeware/bmfreew.zip

Cheers,
Ben

  • It's also worth mentioning that the patch included with the 3Drealms download was created by a DosBox developer (It's a BioMenace bug which is why the patch is required), and that 3DRealms recommends running Biomenace in DosBox. ;)
  • Meh, I tried Bio Menace under DosBox (using the included patch, too).  It ran for about 2 seconds before it froze. :)
  • I USED TO HAVE THIS GAME.
On a really old windows pc thing, and it was so great :o
