Hyper-V Program Manager
MS-DOS is no longer officially supported under Virtual PC 2007, as such the DOS Virtual Machine Additions are not included with Virtual PC 2007. However - if, like me, you want to run DOS on Virtual PC 2007 - you can get the DOS Additions by following this easy process:
As I have already mentioned - this is not supported - but should work fine.
Ben, you really made my day here. Thanks so much for the very useful information!
Works perfectly also on Windows 7 HP 64bit although it calls that Win 7 is not supported :-)
The VFD didn't boot under Virtual PC 2007
The extracted DOS additions .vfd is not intended to boot under VPC. It's just floppy disk that contains an install program. Like the man said:
3. Grab the DOS Additions .VFD file and insert it into the floppy drive of your virtual machine under Virtual PC 2007.
4. Run the install program from the floppy under the virtual machine.
Easy, and it works as advertised.
Any options to install the .vfd if the physical machine has no floppy drive?
Nevermind. I figured it out. Doh. Virtual Floppy Drive. I "captured the floppy disk image" and ran the batch file from A: Worked like a charm. Thank you.
actually it doesn't work very well, when I'm on DOS and go to r:/>dos there's a file called fshare.exe -- I suppose this is the correct one, but I cannot execute it or copy to c: anyway -- the only msg I get is: Bad command or file name. any way to solve this?
