  • If it is RTM, it would be nice if the documentation for it was as well.  Trying to setup VLANS for it, and MS gives me this link:

You can use virtual LAN identification as a way to isolate network traffic. However, this type of configuration must be supported by the physical network adapter. For information about configuring virtual LAN identification, see the Hyper-V deployment content at the Windows Server 2008 TechCenter (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=108560).

That link takes me to a page that says:

  • I tried updating our servers at work from rc0 to the RTM and as the machine was going through the reboot, it said the update failed and returned it to its previous state.. nothing in the logs about any error.. but hyper v definately isn't updated and I don't know why. Any clues?

  • In case someone runs into the same problem I got! My host server Windows 2008 had the "Download recomended dowloads" in the windows update settings. This caused the Hyper-V RTM to be downladed and installed!!. After server rebooted no Virtual machine ran!!!  After some reasearch found this useful link in MS: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949222/

Luckly no information was lost!. Only thing lost was the snapshoots setup (no the info itself). Everything got converted to a single VHD... but information was there.... ufff!!!
