Hyper-V Program Manager
Last week we released the System Center 2012 Management Pack for Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012. You can go grab it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36438
One thing I would like to highlight – in the past we have had two management packs for Hyper-V. One written by the Hyper-V team and one written by the System Center Virtual Machine Manager team. Well, we have now done the sensible thing and combined these into one management pack that you can use with or without System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
Do you know when will System Center 2007 R2 Management Pack for Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 be released, please?
Thanks in advance.
OpsMgr 2007 R2 agent is not supported on Windows Server 2012, so the answer is 'System Center 2007 R2 Management Pack for Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 will not be released for OpsMgr 2007 R2'.
It is clear someone dropped the ball on these MPs as there is very little actual content to them. There are very few views offered out of the box (only 1 from the 2012 MP, others are from hyperv library), and I can't believe the team had over a year to develop these and didn't even include any of the new visualization features such as dashboards/widgets out of the box. In addition to this there are very few performance collection rules. However there are several unit monitors which is nice. If the development team wants to know how to create a real quality MP for a virtualization platform, look at what VEEAM has done for VMWare.
