Tim Cook, Apple's COO, mentioned it at the Goldman Sachs Technology Investment Symposium a few days back: "We just received word on Monday that Apple surpassed Dell as the number one supplier of portables to US higher education for 2007."
I found the info on Computerworld's website and on 9to5Mac.
Impressive. I very much hope most students in the "US higher education" run Vista on their MacBooks! If not, I suggest we "invent" a program offering a bundle of Vista Ultimate or Business together with Office for Mac 2008 and a few free support calls. Most of the developer tools are already available for free under the DreamSpark program anyway.
We could call the marketing program something like
Don't hate me, one must have dreams and I am happy running Vista Enterprise and Ultimate on MacBooks!
