Well, it took me a while but I finally figured it out. The magic lies behind the “Freeze Panes” button located in the “View” tab :-) There is also a nice video on YouTube which shows exactly how it works.
Later!

Well, we had a speakers dinner at the second last day of the Microsoft Launch 2008 in Germany. Michael intended to give away prices for "best session", "best speaker", etc but since reporting wasn't done yet then he assigned prizes to the "funniest slip of the tongue", "in-time hand-over of slides" (kudos!!! I couldn't have done that ;-)) and so on.
So guess what... With eight abstracts I won the second price in the category "# of abstracts handed in" (a lovely Windows toaster ;-)).
Sweet!
Well, I'll probably get fired for this (Just kidding! Have a look @ Life At Microsoft - The Truth Revealed to see how working for MS REALLY looks like...) but I wanted to make you aware of some cool Photoshop tutorials. We might face the fact that paint isn't the first choice of serious photographers ;-)
This is AWESOME :-) IE8 Beta 1 is here and it comes with some nice features like

YEEES!
CAPTCHAs are a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether the user is human and can often be found when subscribing to an online service like an email account, responding to a blog or similar. The right-hand side shows how facebook relies on CAPTCHAs when one tries to create a new account.
Since I sometimes get asked about CAPTCHA controls for .NET I want to introduce two .NET CAPTCHA controls together with some - hopefully interesting - background information:

Alright! Fair enough! This is too late for the first keynote from Ray Ozzie, Scott Guthrie, Dean Hachamovitch. Fortunately though you can watch this keynote online :-) So, here are the keynote links:
Wednesday, March 5 • 9:30 am (GTM -08:00), Keynote : Ray Ozzie, Scott Guthrie, Dean Hachamovitch -- streamed live here. Thursday, March 6 • 1:00 pm (GTM -08:00), Keynote: Steve Ballmer & Guy Kawasaki -- streamed live here.
Besides that we’ll have session recordings available at http://sessions.visitmix.com – if all goes well within 24 hours after each live session :-)
Additional information provides the official MIX homepage.
Sweet :-) Have a look at ScottGu's blog for a first impression of Silverlight 2
and get the bits from
Scott also did a walk through some of the fundamental programming concepts behind Silverlight and WPF
Cheers!
Whooow!!! This is freaking sweet! Did you ever wish for JavaScript Intellisense support when working with the Virtual Earth Map Control in Visual Studio 2008? Marc Schweigert set up a tiny CodePlex project named the Virtual Earth JavaScript Intellisense Helper which enables exactly this.
In order for Virtual Earth JavaScript Intellisense to work Marc created a couple of js files including comments. Those files can then be used by the Intellisense engine when a method is consumed (To be more specific Marc created a file VeJavaScriptIntellisenseHelper.js which references all the other files including the xml formatted comments. VeJavaScriptIntellisenseHelper.js then is referenced using the /// <reference> syntax as can be seen in the picture above effectively enabling Intellisense support.). Marc explains all this in a channel9 video.
If you are interested in the details of JavaScript Intellisense read Scott Guthries' blog labeled VS 2008 JavaScript Intellisense or visit my .NET Usergroup Talk in Ulm (26.03.2008, 18:00 (GTM +01:00)).
Unfortunately, there is one catch. Since there has to be one js file per VE Class and pulling everything together is basically a manual task this project is tons of work. Marc already did a great job but is still looking for volunteers to help. If you intend to help drop Marc an email which can be found at the end of the above mentioned channel9 video.
Cheers
Servus!
Downloads:
