I original created this blog about five years ago but never got around to actually creating a post. There was no particular reason, I just couldn’t find anything that I thought would be of any benefit for anyone to want to read let alone subscribe to. However fairly recently a colleague of mine commented that blogs are for documenting your knowledge so that you can personally refer to it again in the future. Being a prolific OneNote user I could relate to this. However making my OneNote publically available still didn’t sit comfortably with me. I then started to think about this a bit more and how this relates to my job… Surely other people could possibly benefit from the “stuff” I have had to research and understand myself. Possibly? So I’ve decided to find out and start blogging.

As to who I am? I’m a Principal Consultant working for Microsoft Consulting Services based out of Auckland, New Zealand. Being a consultant for Microsoft means that I get to work with lots of different customers and partners using Microsoft technologies. Over the years I’ve tended to specialise on SharePoint to the point that I’ve recently become a Microsoft Certified Master on SharePoint 2010. However more about becoming a MCM in future posts as this is just an introduction to this blog and my tales from the trenches…
