In the past we have structured Chalk & Talks (C&T) typically as a combination of information transfer using slides, demonstrations and Questions & Answers. The more adventurous or ad-hoc C&T owners also walk into these sessions cold and let the audience guide the content and discussion of the session … which works extremely well if the audience is supportive and interactive, but can also result in an hour of silence and staring faces.

We will be hosting a number of the Chalk& Talk sessions, at events such as TechReady and possibly at TechEd, to collaborate around the Rangers solutions, such as:

I have participated in just a few such sessions so my comments are no so much a reaction to prior C&Ts, but more of what might be helpful to a new participant:

- Purpose of the Session

- Target audience and pre-requiste knowledge/experience

- Overview of the solution: what it can do and what it can't

- Drill down on new/improved features (features->design->code)

- Demo

- How to get started using the solution

- Q&A
