Last Thursday, we announced that Windows 7 will be available for $49.95 for Australian uni and TAFE students. The offer gives students with an eligible .edu.au email address, the opportunity to download an upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional (32 or 64 bit) at the sweet $49.95 price.

We recommend that before students take advantage of this offer, that they check the Windows upgrade advisor to help determine which features and editions of Windows 7 will run on their existing PC. With Windows 7 giving students the tools they need to better manage their work, stay in touch with friends and have fun, there has never been a better time to upgrade to Windows 7. If you’re a student, keep an eye on your email and our blogs and Facebook for all the latest info on Windows 7 activity. Back-to-school time 2010, we will be on campus, sharing the offer along with our favourite features that we think students will love. We have ours, but we would love to hear yours, so leave us a comment below.

One of the many features of Windows 7 that we can’t wait to share is the ability access your music, movies and photos from any computer in the world running also running Windows 7. Say you’re at a mate’s place, and the best music option on their PC falls somewhere between Peter Andre and K-Fed, all you have to do is turn on streaming, punch in your Live ID, and boom! All your music and movies streamed direct to where you are. Simple! Now students can access features like this, and tonnes more, all on their current PC – for under 50 bucks.

But sorry mum, this one’s not like Facebook - when we say students only, we mean it!

Check it out at www.windows7studentoffer.com, and don’t be greedy, share the love and forward it to any students you know.
