Windows Phone 7 is just around the corner and we can’t wait…it’s going to have a ground-breaking interface that offers you loads of new opportunities to build creative communities, amazing experiences and a name for yourself in the industry.

We’d love to see some uber successful Australian developers and designers lead the way in application and game development for Windows Phone 7. So in preparation for the launch we want to get you all started on building great applications and games. All the FREE tools you need to get creative are here

Windows Phone Developer Tools Beta includes:

• Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone Beta
• Windows Phone Emulator Beta
• Silverlight for Windows Phone Beta
• Microsoft Expression Blend for Windows Phone Beta
• XNA Game Studio 4.0 Beta

Once you have created your application or game, let us know about it – email auwp7app@microsoft.com and submit your app to the Marketplace (click on the ‘your apps’ tab from http://developer.windowsphone.com/)

If you are a Silverlight or XNA developer/designer, you will already be familiar with the tools. For those of you who are new to Windows Phone or Silverlight / XNA, then we will be running a series of events in the coming weeks and months around Australia where you can learn more. Please email auwp7app@microsoft.com to register your interest and let us know your preferred location then we’ll let you know when our next event will be.
