We are constantly working to help protect our customers against online threats by providing a safer and more trusted browsing experience through Internet Explorer. Just recently in the US, NSS Labs, an independent, information security research and testing organisation, released a report that finds Internet Explorer offers the best protection against socially-engineered malware. According to the report, Internet Explorer is able to either block or warn against 99% of socially-engineered malware and is by far the best at protecting users against socially-engineered malware.
Internet Explorer’s leadership in providing protection from socially engineered attacks comes through our SmartScreen filter. This filter helps protect our IE8 and IE9 Beta customers by detecting and blocking websites that distribute socially engineered malware and phishing attacks.
If you haven’t yet done so, download Internet Explorer 9 Beta from www.beautyoftheweb.com to see how you can enjoy a more beautiful – and trusted web - experience.
Excuse me, but THANKS FOR NOTHING Explorer 9 !!!
I've spent something like ten hours on trying to fix my problem, and it's not made easy by Microsoft's own webpages either !!
I'm at University of Wollongong. The Uni. system only supports IE 7 or 8. I didn't realise this, and downloaded 9. Couldn't save any documents, and wouldn't even open key pages on the eLeaning system. I erased the previous instalation of IE 7.
Now, I can't even find a link to download IE 7 compatible with Windows 7. it's just not freely available !!
Talk about a waste of time, and lack of being 'USER FRIENDLY '.
