If not, will you be posting some tutorials to help Adobe devs convert existing code to Visual Studio? While working within Flash Pro or AS3 would be ideal, even some good tutorials on how to get your old Flash stuff into C++ or whatever would be awesome, as I think the new Surface release is not something any serious app developer should ignore.

In the Release Preview if you install Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate then you will have the oData components included and can use the “Add Service Reference” features within Visual Studio to create proxies to your oData endpoint. Currently in the Release Preview this functionality is limited to the Ultimate edition of Visual Studio. Going forward we are exploring shipping oData support (including tools support) as a stand-alone package. This method will enable functionality for Visual Studio Express for Windows 8 as well as the professional versions (Pro, Premium, Ultimate) of Visual Studio.

@Jamie

That's great feedback. With the variety of form factors that Windows 8 will ship keyboard shortcuts will be essential for many Metro style app users. We'll look into how we can evangelize this better in the blog. In the meantime these articles on Responding to keyboard input: msdn.microsoft.com/.../Hh868246(v=win.10).aspx

And Implementing keyboard accessibility: msdn.microsoft.com/.../Hh868161(v=win.10).aspx

Have some more details on keyboard shortcut guidance in Metro style apps.

One thing that has displeased me slightly about a lot of the apps in the Store so far is that they don't make good use of keyboard shortcuts (the various twitter apps that are there are a classic example of this). It would be great if you guys on the developer blog could evangelize the benefit of keyboard shortcuts - perhaps not in a dedicated blog post (although that would be nice) but mention the value of keyboard shortcuts when writing other posts.

Regards

It is clearly too late now, but I thought I would toss in a comment about the new HighPriority roaming app setting. Because the design allows only a single setting, every time we change any component of high-priority data, the entire composite needs to be transferred. What might have made more sense is to allow multiple HighPriority... settings to enjoy this privilege. Then, only the changed portions of the HighPriority set need to be transferred.

There are probably some down-sides to this that I am missing. In any case, thanks for the tip and the sample code in Scenario9.xaml.cs.
