Changes were made to Windows platforms to help provide more security for the WMI provider host process (wmiprvse.exe).  These changes introduce three new group policies and two running modes for the WMI shared host, which are called secure and compatible.

These new registry keys and host provider running modes are also available for computers running Windows XP SP2 and later, all versions of Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Windows Server 2008.  If you are running Windows Update, this feature should be installed automatically.
