Bungie's New Digs

Bungie's New Digs

Last night Bungie invited select few community members to come check out their new building in Bellevue, about 20 minutes east of Seattle. The building actually used to be a movie theater, where I recall seeing such classics as Hot Rod and ... well just Hot Rod, but that's a quality cinema experience on its own.

We spent the night playing Reach, which I won't detail so close to release, you can pretty well assume it's going to be unbelievably awesome and everything that a Halo game should be. There were two rooms setup for us, one room playing versus multiplayer and the other primarily concerned with exploring the new Firefight variants. The multiplayer was excellent and I enjoyed the maps, at a glance, but it's tough to really judge a map until you've played it against more competitive players. Firefight truly impressed me, it's come a long way since ODST. In ODST, Firefight was a gametype which could last hours, and a minimum of about 15-20 minutes depending on which skulls you activate and your skillset. In Reach, Bungie has create new gametypes to give you a satisfying 5-10 minute Firefight experience. My favorite of these gametypes is Gruntpocalypse, which pits your Spartan team against wave after wave of Grunts. I've been headshotting Grunts for 9 years now and it's still one of the most rewarding experiences I have with a controller in my hands.

Feast your eyes upon the Halo Mecca.

where did you create your account? if it's on xbox.com, you need to recover it first to your console.
