Come...Join me...be one of us at the Houston TechFest this weekend. http://houstontechfest.com/
Today is episode 8 of my continuing series on regular expressions. In this one, we tackle regex engines and what they mean to you. Wheeeeeeeee!
heard about our latest kick butt search interface? No? Well, that's because it was just made available! Check it out now and get your Tafiti into shape :)
· Go to http://www.tafiti.com
· Enter a search query
· Drag interesting results to the shelf on the right. Each box on the shelf can be used to save a related set of results. Shelf contents can be saved and shared.
· Use the carousel at the bottom left to do different types of searches (image, blog, etc.)
· Visualize your results using the Tafiti Tree View.
I wonder how my searches for "robot chicken" and "athf" will come out? :P
If you haven't joined yet, I definitely suggest you give it a try. If you want to find out more, you can go to the the SLDNUG site at http://www.sldnug.net/
I personally try to attend every one of these and the UG lead Tori is really great! We had some great swag available: I gave away FIVE vouchers for free MS Exams and Tori gave away a ton of books and software. They are also planning to have regular speakers and other great UG activities.
Additionally, I am happy to announce that the Visual Studio Island in-world will be given to me in Sept and I intend to turn it into a great community area for everyone to enjoy. Lots of great stuff happening, come join us!

Going to hook up with the Topeka .NET Users Group, still figuring out a date but will let you all know when I will be heading out there. Looking forward to hanging out with the folks :)
Want to use your Wiimote to control your .NET app? Check out what Chad is working on at his blog or on CodePlex. Seriously cool stuff.
Part 7 of 10 is in the can and I am gearing up for the one next week on (cool music)...

Down a little...
There you go :)
I totally forgot to give a shout out by name to my buds for lunch on Friday: Jasdeep and Nelson from http://www.alamocoders.net! Thanks guys for all the great ideas and the kick butt enthusiasm you have for growing the .NET User Community in SA!
I'm contemplating a "pictures from the road" set of posts to show some selected scenes from the MSDN Events. Sounds like it might be fun to do, gonna think in it some more and decide. I'm not sure why but I have this image in my mind from "Fletch" with Chevy Chase where he is showing pictures of his trip....
Many, Many thanks to the great folks in San Antonio! The event was not as great as I would have liked for it to be but the people more than made up for all the mishaps that happened. I love that neck of the woods as I went to the academy there and Southwest Texas State (now Texas State). The country is very beautiful and you can't beat the tex-mex food.
I met with the San Antonio .NET User Group and would strongly encourage anyone in that vicinity to join the wonderful folks they have. I really enjoyed having lunch Friday with the crew :)
