Under the Royal Patronage of Her Highness Princess Sumaya bint Al-Hasan, president of the Royals Scientific Society, the Jordan Imagine Cup 2010 Awards Ceremony will take place today at 5pm at Princess Sumaya University of Technology – Friendship Hall. (if you’d like to attend, please be there at 4:30pm)

I think this is a great event – and I’m deeply moved and indebt to Her Highness for sponsoring the event with her presence. Today we celebrate Genuine Jordanian Innovation and Creativity – not in a vacuum, but as it relates to the toughest problems of the world around us.

• As a country, we have no way around being creative and innovative to steer out destiny. We have to embrace IT and we have to become a world-class provider of IT to the whole globe.
• Students move mountains. The world tomorrow relies on the vision of the students today.
• It is very hard to produce innovative and creative students – and so when we find them we must embrace them and celebrate them. And this is what we’re doing today.
• Today is not just about giving our awards, but it’s a chance to truly appreciate the thoughts of these students, to positively critique them, and to make sure they have what it takes to keep innovating and creating.

Please join me today in celebrating these students. Either by attending the event or when you meet them. And always encourage other students to compete for creativity, innovation, and Imagination! for the Imagine Cup.
