I am an avid Audiobook listener. Audiobooks are books read & recorded usually by professional actors. You listen to them in the car, in the bus, or on the computer.

I started listening to audiobooks about 7 years ago, and I love them. I would say I listen to around 30 books a year. My MP3 player died few months ago, so I’ve been using my phone. But I hope soon I’ll be buying a Zune HD :-)

So today I was pleasantly surprised to read that one of my favorite Audiobook series, and one of my favorite audiobook Lecturers, are also Bill Gates’ favorite:

My second economics course was America and the New Global Economy by Timothy Taylor.
This is a fantastic course focusing on macroeconomics (overall economic results). He really explains what has happened in the world economy.
I found his region-by-region analysis incredibly valuable. I knew some of the facts but I had never seen it explained as a whole like he did.
I would say he is an even better teacher than Whaples – one of the best even by the very high standards of The Teaching Company.

I encourage you all to listen to books. It’s awkward in the beginning, but then it becomes a great & useful addiction.
