Incidentally, I also went yesterday to the 5th Jordanian Dates Exhibition and bought 6 different types of Dates. I have to say my favorite is the Saq’i (صقعي) – it’s very dry and has a distinct nutty flavor. Almost every other booth was showcasing Majhool or Medjool dates. This is interesting given that only 10 years ago nobody knew Medjool in Jordan. Globalization is amazing.
