What happens when you bring together software developers, hardware hackers and makers, students, and enthusiasts?
Find out by joining us at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, June 30th-July 1st for two days of intense learning and fun in the heart of Virginia’s tidewater! You’ll enjoy illuminating keynotes, over 70 high-quality breakout sessions, and ongoing hardware hacker and maker demos throughout the conference.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided both days, and hotel accommodations are conveniently located within easy walking distance of the venue, with many restaurants and shopping attractions nearby as well.
The Mid Atlantic Developer Expo is not your average conference. In addition to the broad array of breakout topics available, we’re also offering MADKidz, a full-day mini-conference for kids 7 and up that will run on Friday, July 1st. MADKiz will provide activities geared to your child’s age group, from simple electronics for the younger set, to software development and robotics for older kids. MADKidz is just $20 per child, with purchase of at least one regular admission.
And after the conference is done, continue the fun at one of the many local attractions, such as Virginia Beach, less than an hour east, and Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Great Wolf Lodge, just a short drive north.
On Thursday, June 30th, we will have another mini-conference, the HTML5 Camp, sponsored by Microsoft. The HTML5 Camp will provide a full day of informative talks on this emerging standard, from an introduction to HTML5 and what it can provide for web developers, to which parts of the HTML5 specification are usable today across a broad range of clients.
Mid Atlantic Developer Expo is committed to bringing you the best speakers and the most inspiring and thought-provoking topics, and this shows right from the beginning with our opening keynote, which will feature Wintellect’s Jeff Prosise, talking about his passion for building and flying custom radio control jet airplanes. Day 2 will feature James Ashley, from Razorfish, talking about the impact of breakthroughs in nerd psychology on software development. And that’s not all…we’re working on a second keynote for day 1 with more info to come soon!
Breakout sessions are the heart of any tech conference, and we’ve got plenty in store. Here’s just a taste:
· Kinect versus Surface 2.0 Cage Match: Battle for the Ultimate NUI Device
· Re-thinking the (Desktop) User Interface
· How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love jQuery
· Location Matters! The World of Geospatial Web and Mobile applications.
· Understanding User Experience Design Patterns
· The Demystification Of The Allure Of Ruby
· Greater Than the Sum of Its Parts – MVC 3 and the Microsoft Web Platform

Come and see how adding a little custom hardware to your toolkit can expand the possibilities for your application development!
