In this Hands-On Lab, you will learn how to:

  • Create applications in Windows Azure using web roles and worker roles
  • Use Storage services including blobs, queues and tables
  • Publish an application to Windows Azure Cloud Services

With Windows Azure, developers can create applications using any language, tool or framework.
In this Hands-On Lab, you will learn how to:

  • Use SQL Database as a cloud hosted database platform for your application
  • Provision a new SQL Database server and create new databases
  • Create new SQL Database users and grant them appropriate permissions
  • Use SQL Database to execute statements to create tables and indexes and to insert query rows
  • Build a simple date driven ASP.NET page using the graphical controls in Visual Studio
  • Connect to SQL Database via Client Libraries
