Hong Kong's use of Technology

A couple of friends, Rob & Becky Dickson, live in Hong Kong and Rob loads up his watch with credits so that when he rides the subway, he simply wands his watch near some sort of reader at the turnstile. I always though that was pretty cool as I would fumble through the coins, he would just walk right through. And now I see that you can send a text message (SMS) to the police in Hong Kong. I wonder what else the city has that I haven’t noticed!

AFAIK, Hong Kong is the "first" city implementing this kind of SMS-2-Police service for the disable, and I don't (NEVER!) have a chance to try it out though.

Have you heard about purchasing of Coke with SMS when you stand in front of a soft drink vendoring machine? ;-)

Well, you can purchase Coke or any other drinks on most vendor machines via SMS here in Singapore too :-)
