If so i'm having a bit of trouble getting it installed. It keeps telling me that I need the IIS 6 compatability pack installed when everything related to IIS compatability is already installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing that this is the problem. What I recommend is either run the AT on a 32 bit machine or install a 32 bit OS in a VM on your 64-bit machine and run the OS in that VM.

The Mobile Web Forms runtime support is still in Orcas. We no longer have WYSWYG designer support for them though. They are still fully supported in source mode.

One of the Program Managers on the ASP.NET design time team committed to writing a blog post to explain the Orcas support they have. If I see it when it comes out, I'll link to it.

I have the following questions.

1. Will an in place upgrade to the released version of TFS 2008 be supported by the TFS 2008 installation package?

2. If I have purchase a license for TFS 2005 now will I be able to just pay for the upgrade to 2008 when it comes out and how much might that upgrade cost?

3. If I have purchase a number of Team Explorer CAL for vs 2005 professional now will I need to purchase an upgrade for each CALS when I switch my users to VS 2008 pro ( I understand I will pay for an upgrade to vs 2008 pro itself).

4. Will the TFS 2008 Beta 2 keep working until I install the released version? In other words is there any change it will expire before the TFS 2008 release version?

I purchased the TFS 2005 server and 20 CALs about two weeks ago and have not yet installed them. If I knew 2008 Beta 2 was coming with a go-live license I would have waited to purchase all of this until 2008 shipped in a couple months.

Thanks

-- Steven

Yes, an in place upgrade will work to upgrade from Beta 2 to RTM. You will uninstall Beta 2 and then install RTM.

2. I'm not sure about upgrade pricing. I'll look into it. You should check if you have software assurance (most TFS customers do). If you do, then the upgrade has no additional cost.

3. Yes, CALs go with the version of the server. You will need to buy a TFS 2008 CAL (and they can be used against any older server). Again, I'll check on upgrade pricing and the comments about software assurance apply again.

4. I believe Beta 2 is scheduled to expire. I don't recall exactly when, but I think it is next spring (Mar/Apr). There's no chance that the released version won't ship well before then.
