Quick questions:

What are the plans to have this localized.

Since the web can be used by people to interact with development team (non technical users), this can be a pretty important feature.

Do you restrict the list of projects based on security permissions? In the previous version of VSTS Web Access someone could still see a list of all projects on the server even if they did not have "View Project Info" permission for that project. I documented the bug and posted a question on the MSDN Forums - and was told the "next version" would fix it.

Has it been fixed?

Currently I'm running TFS 2005, VS 2005 Team Suite and TSWA 2005. I'm lacking the possibility to use custom WI controls under TSWA. Will I get it if I install TE 2008 and TSWA 2008? Can there be any compatibility issues here?

Yes, you will get custom control support with TSWA 2008. TSWA 2008 works just fine against a TFS 2005 server - I would not expect any compatibility problems.

The description field only accepts plain text… it should be a rich text box for better viewing/editing, and support image (at least from VS 2005/2008).

Thanks for the feedback. The description field actually is HTML, however it doesn't support easily embedding screen shots because that involves a way to resolve from the HTML content to the image content. That's on our feature list for the future but we haven't targetted a specific release for it yet.

When I create a new work item type by "Copy work item type" from tswa, it does not copy the attachment. The reason why I ask is, my client wants to be able to move my work items from one team project to another along with attachments, without going through a lot of steps. While I thought about creating a small utility or use the Migration and Sync kit from codeplex, he isnt very thrilled about another component to go to. Could you please let me know if SP1 addresses this issue? If not, how can I achieve the same? Thanks in advance for your reply

Hi Deepak,

TSWA has the same behavior with Team Explorer for the sake of consistency when it comes to creating a copy of a work item. Certain field values will be copied, but certain things such as attachments and links will not be copied.

In your case, a possible workaround would be building a small utility to do this as you mentioned.

I use power tools every day when I work with TFS, work item template editing, workflow you name it. This is important addition to TFS and it’s hard to imagine how many countless hours are saved with the help of your power tools. Keep up the good work!
