This morning at the BI Conference here in beautiful Seattle, Washington, we unveiled some cool new technology that we think will dramatically change the way people create and consume BI data. The way blogs and wikis made publishing content on the web something anyone could do, without needing specialized knowledge, Microsoft is doing the same thing for BI with self-service analytics and reporting. We briefed Boris Evelson of Forrester on our announcement for today, and he included it as one of "impending significant, and potentially market disruptive, next generation BI technologies".
