If the PDC is supposed to be communicating a strategic platform message to developers, why are there so many disconnected technology presentations?

The PDC appears to be one large technology fair where each product group is promoting their own technologies.

For specific examples, checkout http://dotnetjunkies.com/WebLog/mwherman2000/archive/2005/07/14/131275.aspx

Brad,

Thanks for the PDC update. Those sessions look very exciting! My favorites: the two Atlas sessions, C# future directions, and the one on building web services with WSE that will interop with Indigo.

One minor complaint-- the layout of the session page is severly broken in Firefox. That's inexcusable in 2005. What were they thinking!?
