About Breazile's Blog
I work on a problem management team here at Microsoft. My team charter is to reduce the number of incidents we see in our infrastructure and to decrease the TTR (time to resolution). We also handle major incidents which have a high business impact. As part of our problem control process, we document known problems, and I'll include some of them here to help other IT professionals.
Prior to this job, I was a software architect and developer for 15 years. For most of that time I specialized in embedded systems development. I wrote BIOS software, real time operating systems, and ported PCL and Postscript to printing platforms. I developed multifunction printers for many companies. I spent a few years as an application developer writing software for Apple which was used for inventory control and some robotics in their manufacturing and repair facilities. I developed a proof of concept USB to parallel port converter for large Japanese company which was a technology showcase in the 1996 Comdex show. My Microsoft development is limited to writing a Windows 95 & Windows NT ATAPI miniport driver for NEC’s ODX-656 read/write optical disk drive. I was also a Microsoft vendor, and worked on part of the Windows Printing System (host driver and embedded).
I enjoy technical diving in the Puget Sound, as well as cave diving in Florida and Mexico. Oh, I also like Skiing, as you can tell from the photo below.
