Christophe has just posted on the Codeplex solution that allows easy handling of event handlers http://blogs.msdn.com/chrisfie/archive/2008/04/15/deploying-a-custom-event-handler-has-never-been-easier.aspx and I had my first chance to play with this yesterday.
