Before this SP2 issue was reported as an EG related problem I saw the same behaviour when creating a new plan from an existing enterprise template. The templates had been created before SP2 was applied. The problem went away when pre-sp2 client was used. So it seems to have wider currency than simply the EG, hence I can't recommend SP2 client rollout.

There were certainly some early bugs in this area that were very similar, but probably no "known issues" since SP1, although the behavior could have been lurking in an affected cache copy of the EG. Thanks for the feedback though - and we will keep our eyes out for other reports that this could be more widespread.

Best regards,

I have posted a new enterprise template from a computer with SP2. Then, If I open this template from a pre-SP2 computer everything is OK. If I open the template from a computer which have SP2, I get a new project file with the random views bug.

But, the good news are if I SAVE the new project and open it again, this time it will show up just fine. The problem disappears.

re: Project 2007: Mixed up views after updating the Enterprise Global after SP2

Hello Brian,

do you know if the August CU will "heal" those Enterprise Globals that already experience this problem, or if it will only stop it occuring in more systems?.

As we can work with the corrupt EGlobal and only have problems administering the views, we would like to wait for a fix than to delete the global and create views and calendars again.

Thanks and best regards

We have tasks entered in MS Project 2007 like

SUMMARY - Module 1 - Develop

 - Class Design

 - UI Design

 - Test

SUMMARY - Module 2 - Develop

 - Class Design

 - UI Design

 - Test

SUMMARY - Module 3 - Develop

 - Class Design

 - UI Design

 - Test

Earlier the sort order was the WBS code which made the assignments appear in the dialog exactly as above. However, after applying April CU, the sort order has changed to alphabetical and as result it is coming as -

- Class Design

- Class Design

- Class Design

SUMMARY - Module 1 - Develop

SUMMARY - Module 2 - Develop

SUMMARY - Module 3 - Develop

- Test

- Test

- Test

- UI Design

- UI Design

- UI Design

With quite a few module assignments, our developers are finding it extremely difficult to identify the assignment (by looking at the item description at the bottom of the list).

Please let me know if you are aware of this and have any workarounds.
