Developer Guide for Office Live
Well, I'm trying to hold off a few more days before writing anything meaty about Office Live & integration with Office 2007, since the Beta 2 release of 2007 is supposedly coming up shortly. Of course I don't want to commit anyone to dates, because Sr. Mary Reprimand will surely smack my knuckles with a Office 2007 Professional box. So don't hold your breath for topics on integration with Access, SharePoint Designer, etc.
We are working on the Office Live Developer Guide that we want to have ready later this year, and that's taking up most of my time right now. I'd love to hear from folks about what they like/dislike about the typical MSDN type documentation, what types of tools & support they find most helpful from an MSDN Dev Center, etc. etc. There is the obvious usual SDK-like documentation, technical articles, and whitepapers, but also other more interactive things like videos, forums/boards, newsgroups, blogs, so on and so forth.
Since we are not going after a traditional or hard-core developer audience, we don't even want to call our documentation an SDK. And we hope to keep the tone helpful and informative, without being dry or confusing. Maybe that's just the holy grail or something. OK, stop me now, that's two religious references in one blog post already. Guess I'm ready for the DaVinci Code to be released next week. :)
Let me know what you find most useful, what gets you kick-started on a project, etc.
