MacGyver issue of Wired
I made the mistake of trying to read through the current issue of Wired Magazine this AM. It has Stephen Colbert on the cover, so I figured there must be something interesting in it, right?
Wrong. The vast majority of this month's issue is a bizarre 'how to' guide for a bunch of things that I have no interest in doing. Do I really care about how to trick out my car to run on biodiesel? Do I want to build a high-rise condo using only toothpicks and straws? Do I want to hack my (nonexistant) iPod? No, No and No.
You could call this the "MacGyver" issue of Wired. But ultimately the seemingly endless how to guide was just a glorified ad for Geek Squad, which had dozens of full page 'how to' advertisements of their own interespersed with the Wired how to articles.
Someone please tell me why I keep paying for this magazine????
