IT Architect's Heads Up: Internet Explorer Security Bulletin
I wanted to quickly touch base with our IT Architect community on an issue that has come to the forefront on a potential security issue that has been identified in Microsoft's Internet Explorer technology. Microsoft is continuing to investigate reports of an attack on a variety of scenario using Internet Explorer and is actively working on resolving this issue. In the interim, please review the article at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/advisory/961051.mspx which discusses current recommendations on workarounds.
Tomorrow (December 17, 2008) at 1PM Pacific and on Thursday (December 18, 2008) at 11AM Pacific we will be holding a webcast to address your concerns. Please visit http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms08-dec.mspx to get more details and to register for these webcasts.
The web tier is one of our most important layers as architects, and we need to be sure that the security aspects of our applications are not compromised. Microsoft is committed to ensuring that security is at the front of all of our efforts; please let me or any of our architecture team know if you need any additional briefing on this situation or if there are any other ways we can be of assistance.

Dave Remmer, Architect Advisor, Developer and Platform Group, Microsoft Canada
